Terms of service
These terms describe what Valyzer offers today and what you can expect from your account. By using the service you agree to them. The service is operated by the operator named in the legal notice.
What Valyzer is
Valyzer is a public impact-analysis instrument: it publishes events with their evidence, distinguishes observed facts from declared inferences, and keeps a bitemporal history of every correction. The service is under active development; data coverage and features can change without notice.
Accounts
You can sign in with a Google account or with a one-time link sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping access to that email and for actions taken from your session.
Plans
Web read access (World, Current Affairs, Topics, Stories, Observatories, event/entity detail) has a free Explorer plan, with degraded content and provenance for accounts without a paid plan, and Developer/Enterprise plans bought separately that give full access. API access, by key, is described in the next section.
API plans and billing
The API has three plans: Sandbox (free, no card required, 1,000 calls a month, 10 requests a minute, up to 2 keys, full data with provenance, a 200-row-per-query limit, no export), Developer (99 €/month or 990 €/year, tax excluded, 25,000 calls a month, 120 requests a minute, up to 10 keys and export) and Enterprise (custom, sales-led, with a service-level agreement).
Developer and Enterprise have a hard monthly cap: once you exhaust your quota the API answers with a 429 error (quota exceeded) until the next period starts. There is no overage and no charge for extra usage — we never bill you more than the price of the plan you chose.
The Developer plan is paid by subscription through Stripe Checkout and renews automatically every month or year, depending on the cycle you chose, until you cancel it. Stripe calculates the applicable tax (VAT or otherwise) and issues the invoice with the tax ID and address you provide at checkout.
You can change your card, switch between monthly and yearly billing, download invoices or cancel at any time from the Stripe billing portal, reachable from your developer console. Cancelling stops the renewal but keeps the plan active until the end of the period you already paid for; we do not refund the unused part of an already-billed period, unless the law that applies to you grants a right of withdrawal or another non-waivable right, in which case that right prevails.
If your bank declines a renewal charge, Stripe automatically retries it; your plan stays active while the retry is pending. If the charge keeps failing, the plan drops to Sandbox once the period you already paid for ends.
Developer and Sandbox data licence
Data you obtain with a Sandbox or Developer key may be reused inside your own product or service, as long as you keep the source attribution that comes with each response. You may not redistribute the raw dataset to third parties, resell it in bulk, or offer a service whose only value is re-exposing our data without substantial transformation.
The Enterprise plan can include redistribution rights declared per source, set out in that account's commercial agreement and data-processing agreement (DPA); outside that explicit agreement, the limits in this section apply.
Acceptable use
You may not use Valyzer to break the law, to bulk-extract data by evading the service's limits, or to impersonate another person or entity.
Content and rights
The public content we publish comes from official sources, each reviewed with an explicit rights decision before publication; a source being publicly owned is not treated as an automatic open licence.
The software, design, original texts and the Valyzer mark belong to Valyzer.com. You may quote and link to public content citing the source; systematic reproduction or commercial reuse requires prior permission.
Availability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee continuous availability; parts of the catalog may be incomplete or under review while the product matures.
Limitation of liability
Valyzer is a tool that supports analysis. The decisions you make with its information are your own, and that information is not legal, financial or investment advice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM USING OR BEING UNABLE TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO IT OR, IF YOU PAID NOTHING, USD 100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages; in that case these limits apply only to the extent the law permits.
Disputes
Before bringing any claim, write to us at legal@valyzer.com and we will try to resolve it in good faith within 30 days.
Changes to these terms
When what the system actually does changes, we will update this page. The last-reviewed date appears at the top.
To be completed by counsel
- confirm with counsel whether any Developer-plan customer has a right of withdrawal or another non-waivable refund right (e.g. an EU consumer or small business) beyond the end-of-period cancellation policy described above.
